In this project I designed my own versions of graphic props for an existing movie. The props also were designed to look like they were from a different time period than the one in which the movie took place. I designed for Coraline as if it happened in the Victorian Era, creating a logo for The Amazing Bobinsky’s blimp, a “No Whistling in the House” doormat, some Northwest Garden branded seed packages and a movie poster. As was distinctive of Victorian England, I included swirled adornments in my designs, and hand-drew most of the typography. I also stayed away from making things too bright, opting instead for deep or pastel colors to convey both the style of the era and the eerie mood of Coraline.
